Taking A Dating Website From 0 To 50K+ Visitors With SEO
– What's up guys. So if you want to learn
how to break a website in a highly competitive niche, then this video is for you. In fact, I'm going to show you
exactly how I took a website in the dating niche, which is one of the
most competitive niches out there right now for SEO. And I took it from zero to over 50,000 visitors, straight from Google. And in this video I'm going to teach you
the actionable steps of exactly how you can do this yourself. So the number one lesson that I learned along the way it was that link building is
the biggest ranking factor.
When it comes to ranking your website in a very competitive niche. And for example, I can show you that I started publishing
content quite early a few months before, but
until I started building links to the site, really
didn't get any traffic. And then as soon as I
started building links to this website is traffic, you know increased almost exponentially. So really link-building
is the biggest factor. Now, if you don't know what
LinkedIn is essentially where you take a link from one website and it's a clickable link
to take you to another site.
And every time you do
this, kind of like a vote from other websites to say
that your content is good. So if you want to increase your websites build authority in the eyes of Google. If you want to get more social proof that's going to help
you rank higher in terms of Google and back links are
the number one ranking factor. And this really makes a huge difference. It's kind of like the 80-20 rule. If you're not familiar
with the Pareto principle this is essentially where you get 80% of the results with 20% for work. And with link-building SEO
link building is pretty much the 80-20 rule. 20% of the work you do with link building is going to get you 80% of the results of SEO. Now, the problem is that if you don't build back
links your website and you're in a competitive industry,
you're just not going to rank. It's going to be virtually impossible because this is what separates
you from everyone else. You know, lead building is difficult and if it was easy, everyone would do it. So if you want to differentiate yourself from your competitors if you want to stand out
from everyone else, and if you want to look more
authoritative in the high school then you need to get back links your site.
In fact, I worked with one client recently and they didn't get any traffic for over two years to their site. So they were publishing content. They were trying to grow their site. They were frustrated with their results. After two years, they still
weren't getting any traffic to that aside from Google. And then as soon as they
started building links to their site, their traffic
just increased exponentially.
Okay? So this really
makes a huge difference and it can kickstart your results. So if you've been trying
to publish content if you've been doing your on-page SEO if you've been analyzing
the technical elements of your website, but you still
haven't been building links then that's a big problem. And it's a huge weakness for your site because if you don't build back
links, you embed it as well. Now the problem with
LinkedIn is that if you're in a competitive industry,
then everyone, you know and everyone you can meet with is going to be
trying to build links to. And therefore chances are
link-building will be much harder because you can beat
them with everyone else. And therefore you're
going to have to pay a lot of money for links or it's going to be extremely
difficult to get back links by simply reaching out of
websites and asking for a link. So what do you do? well in my situation with
this dating and website I knew that everyone else
was trying to get links in the day and industry,
and it was going to be extremely difficult to
get the links I wanted.
So why did, was hack the outreach process? And I did something that's
known as cross niching. So essentially I took my
niche, which was about dating. And then I created an article
about anxiety and data. And from there, I knew that
if I promoted this article to other websites about
anxiety, number one I wouldn't be competing with all the other dating
websites in my niche. And number two I'd have a lot more prospects
that I could potentially reach out to and ask for a link.
So if you're in a competitive industry don't just try to build links
in your specific industry. For example, I'm in the dating industry but I wasn't trying to build links from just other dating websites. I knew that will be too difficult. I knew it would be too competitive. So instead, what you can
do is kind of merge two niches that aren't usually related and then try to promote
content to the other niche. For example, for me, it
was Stacy and anxiety. If you're in Ecommerce,
you could do an article as an about your relaxation products and then reach out to
other meditation sites. And when you do this,
you're sort of cross niching and joining up two niches
that aren't usually related. And you'll find that when you do this you're going to get much more back links. Basically, it's going to help you fish from a much bigger pond. So, you know, for example,
if I stuck to the data niche which was highly competitive,
then everyone is fishing from the same pond and it's
going to be very small.
But if I look outside of that horizon and I
find other ponds fishing for example, dating, maybe
relaxation, maybe meditation. And I look at all these
other industries that I could potentially read content about and link it back to data. And then essentially I'll be
able to build a lot more links than my competitors. So try and look for the
opportunities and try to find gaps that you can bridge between
your niche and of industries. Now, the beauty of this
technique was that when I used it I was actually getting
all of my back links free. In fact, I didn't pay for a
single back link to my website and that's kind of unheard of
in this particular industry. So why I would recommend
if you want free back links if you don't want to pay money if you're sick of being
asked for paid links then make sure you adopt
the cross-niching strategy. My final tip is to dig out
the low competition keywords. Now for me, I like to challenge myself. I like to test myself.
For example, I go to the
gym like five times a week and every time I go to the gym, I try and lift something heavier than
I've previously done before. And I try and hit my personal records
when it comes to weightlifting. I mean, I'm not, I'm short
Snyder yet, but you know I'm making progress
and where I was before. So anyway, when it comes
to SEO and finding keywords you should be testing yourself to try and find what opportunities
are there in your industry. And even if you're in an
extremely competitive industry for example, I was in dating. There are still loads of keywords that you
could potentially rank for that you can back to
this just haven't found yet or don't have the time to go for yet or simply aren't profitable for them to go for simply because they
pay a lot more particle.
But if you have a cheaper per article if you're writing the articles yourself then you have an opportunity to go for these keywords that
your competitors usually wouldn't now, obviously
it sounds bloody obvious and you know, finding keyword
research opportunities it sounds good, but it's
extremely difficult in practice. So you're probably thinking
