SEO Mythbusting Is Back – Official Trailer (Season 2)

MARTIN SPLITT:
What would you say is actually the most frequent
myth or question that people are coming with to you? SPEAKER 1: How can I
rank on the top, right? MARTIN SPLITT: Yes. SPEAKER 1: That's like
number one question. MARTIN SPLITT: That's
the number one question. [MUSIC PLAYING] SPEAKER 2: But when
you tell the community, "just build the best
possible website", they go back and start laughing. "Yeah, build the
best poss– of course I think I have the
best possible website, but what can I do
to make it better? Should I add HTTPS? Should I make it
0.5 seconds faster? Should I– MARTIN SPLITT: Yeah.

SPEAKER 2: These
specific things. Like, what should I–
where are my priorities? SPEAKER 3: What goes on
in the Google machine once the site moves, a domain
name change is triggered? SPEAKER 4: And what
about word count? SEOs are always asking, is
word count a ranking factor? SPEAKER 5: But the first thing
they listed was page speed, and they were actually quite
insistent in the write-up that it was the most
important ranking factor. MARTIN SPLITT: Oh, no. SPEAKER 6: People are
just trying to group pages topically maybe with
canonicalization, but that's not how it works. SPEAKER 7: It almost
brings to fact that there's so many different
issues that fit into– MARTIN SPLITT: Yeah, exactly. SPEAKER 7: Whether
it's like duplication or finding the pages. MARTIN SPLITT: Mm-hmm. I know no one
wants to hear that, but "it depends" really is
the answer to a lot of things. SPEAKER 2: So
what's it depend on? MARTIN SPLITT: Let's do that
again just one more time. SPEAKER 8: I want
you take your hair and pull it all the
way in front of you. SPEAKER 7: Perfect. [LAUGHTER] SPEAKER 9: That was almost
like a Baywatch move.

I love it. MARTIN SPLITT: That was great.
