How to Use GoDaddy’s Website Builder SEO Tool
Go Daddy's website builder includes a built-in SEO tool on most of our plans. I'm Darlene, let's take a look. (Lifty music) We'll start this demo with the website and marketing headlines. Choose Marketing and choose SEO. If this is your first time going through this process, the SEO Wizard will guide you through optimizing your homepage, and don't worry, nothing is set in stone. You can go through this process at any time to change the keywords you choose. However, keep in mind that it will take time for your changes to show up in search engine results. SEO is not an overnight success story. Let's start the wizard. The first thing you need to do is choose where your customers are located.
Are they national, global or local? Now, you need to tell the wizard what your page is about in a word or two to get suggestions for phrases that customers might use to find you. My site is about video games and repairs, and I'll put them in order, as the most important stuff, and should be in the main. If I fix first then we might be pulling from a bigger pool than we want. Now SEO Wizard will analyze your categories and make suggestions that match popular search terms.
You should choose the top two or three phrases that best describe your page. If you don't like the suggestions, you can choose more phrases. When you have two or three best choices, click Next. The wizard will display your home page, now you need to choose the phrase that best describes it. Now you're ready to optimize your homepage. You need to choose a page title for your search engine results page, or SERP for short. This is what customers will see when they find your website through Google, Yahoo, and Bing. I'm going to pick this one Now it's time to focus on an accurate and enticing homepage description. You should use your preferred keyword or phrase in your description. The box on the left shows how your site appears in search engine results. When you have a good description with keywords, you are ready to move on, click Next.
Now is the time to edit the title to include the main search phrase. Remember, you're essentially changing the text on your website's homepage, so you have to find a balance between optimizing for search engines and being meaningful to your customers. Let's click Next to continue. SEO Wizard will look at every block of text on the homepage. Add keywords wherever possible, but make sure it makes sense. Be creative and map out these keywords as best you can. Now is the time to review the changes you made to improve your SEO. You can edit each individual section if desired. When things look good, click Finish. After completing the SEO wizard, you can review your website and if everything looks good, don't forget to publish it. Now that your website is live with new and improved SEO changes, patience is key. SEO is a long-term game, so it may take time for your page to rise in the search results. This is Darlene, thanks for listening. (light music).
