Welcome to the eBakery YouTube channel: the E-commerce agency! In order to sell the products in a shop as often as possible, you have to draw attention to them. One way to do that is to have a good Google ranking, which you can achieve through Shopify SEO. There are four main ways to influence the search engine in your favor. The page title, meta description, alt-tags, and content of a page. The SEO title and meta description could be optimized if you scroll down to the bottom of a product page, for example. These two are two of the most important SEO elements. They appear in search results and have information for people searching for things related to their products.

So what is there to consider? The page title, which is also displayed on Google, should not exceed 70 characters, otherwise it will be cut off. Each title should include your relevant search terms to be unique and avoid duplicate content. The title should match with your brand, which ensures a steady build-up of your brand and is also favored by Google. The page title should include your keywords but still make it clear what the products are. The meta description explains the content of the respective page and with Google users a first indication of whether your page makes sense for concerns. Uniqueness also applies to the meta description, as well as implementation of the relevant search terms is super important in SEO. Your main keyword should appear between two and five times in the meta description , depending on the length of the text. You should give a meaningful description of your product with at least 320 characters. Your product page or blog entry should begin with the H1 heading , also known as H1 in english. This is mandatory for the Google algorithm, which must contain your main keywords.

Third, in addition to the high-quality images, the alt texts can play. Alt text, also known as alternative text, describes an image and is an important part of a product description. If a media element fails to load for some reason, the alt text will be displayed instead. This is also taken into account by Google and can contribute to a good ranking through the use or keywords. In addition to the metadata, the alt tag and the correct use of your H1, the page content is of course also relevant.

More indexed pages lead to greater web authority and thus to a higher Google ranking. That's why the often used motto "content is king" applies. Of course it's not just about the quantity. Your pages also need to be high quality and remain search engine relevant. This way, duplicate content is downgraded in the ranking or in the worst case, excluded from the index. In addition to these on-page Shopify SEO measures, there are other methods to positively influence the ranking. Such as backlinks or anchor text.
